Last month I had the pleasure of attending a special event to mark the official opening of The Mill Restaurant at Millbrook Garden Centre in Gravesend. There were a few celebrations that evening, including a celebration of Millbrook’s 40thanniversary – but more on that in my next blog post!
Situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Garden Centre plant and shrub area, The Mill is Millbrook’s gorgeous new restaurant, open daily for breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake.
It truly is a beautifully designed building (both inside and out) – contemporary, light and very spacious. It’s also the perfect place to take a break from shopping or to meet friends for a catch-up. I have been a few times and highly recommend the barista bar coffees and homemade cakes!
As a passionate supporter of local Kent businesses, it’s lovely to see Millbrook using local suppliers including (amongst others):
- Artisan bread from Henry’s Bakery in Longfield
- Fresh fish from Linton Seafoods in Tonbridge
- Meat from Leanmeats Butchers in Gravesend
- Vegetables and milk from T.H. Brown and Son in Gravesend
If you’re arranging a lunch catch-up there are lots of tempting freshly-prepared salads, quiches and savouries at the Deli Bar. The Kitchen Classics counter serves lovely comfort food including traditional dishes such as shepherd’s pie, fish and chips or roast of the day.
With free parking, easy access for both wheelchairs and pushchairs, a children’s menu and highchairs there’s much to tempt families too. My children always enjoy a visit to Millbrook! Dogs are welcome in the outside seating area too.
The Mill is open Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm and Sunday 9.30am – 3.30pm.
Breakfast is served from 9am (9.30am on Sundays) until 11.30am.
Lunch is served from 12noon until 2.30pm.
In keeping with the spacious and contemporary design of The Mill, there is a large events room upstairs which is available for private hire. Perfect for corporate meetings, workshops etc…
If you haven’t been, do pay them a visit! You can find out more information about the Garden Centre itself here.
